This particular drawing was done for the "Feet Portfolio Requirement" but I wanted to represent a particular season of my life. I used to do Acrobatics (comparable to gymnastics) for 7 years and then all of a sudden it was stripped away. All of the goals and aims I had were gone.

The water or flesh peeling, whatever have you, in the top left feet represent the splash I was making, what those aims and goals did for me, they kept me going and focused and hopeful. The feet in the foreground represent what happened after I could no longer compete, I could no longer have something I loved for so long. (Which, there is obviously more to the story, the rest of my life was sort of going down as well as facing another surgery- a story for another time). Anyway... the foreground feet represent the peeling away, the melting away of the future goals I had, the pouring out of a life in a sense...

I loved the concept and the feeling- the splashing up and the pouring down - the foot turned under verses both feet in perfect pose - the going back and coming forward.

Thank you, that was the goal. It's something I've been studying hard in my figure drawing classes. :)
